BIO

Cesare Saldicco born in Rome in 1976. He starts to play the piano since childhood and take the superior diploma in 1999 at Perugia’s Conservatory. He achieded in 2004 the Electronic Music diploma with Luigi Ceccarelli. Soon after, in 2007, he is graduated in Composition, Counterpoint and Fugue under Fabio Cifariello Ciardi. Between 2000 and 2003 he also attends several master classes as pianist with the jazz musician Stefano Bollani, wich, in 2002, write the liner notes for the CD Atlantide. In 2002 the Italian National Radio RAI invite him as pianist at the most important radiophonic jazz broadcast: Invenzioni a 2 voci. In 2003 he is finalist at the 2nd International Competition for Composers in Lamia (Greece). In 2004 he wins the Erasmus scolarship in order to spend the academic second term at the Göteborg University in Sweden, studying with Carl Axell-Hall, Ole Lützow-Holm and Anders Hultqvist. In 2006 Centro Tempo Reale founded by Luciano Berio select him for the Soundex project in Florence. In this project he realize the sound design for the show Radio FM 1976-2006 Trent’anni di libertà di antenna in Bologna, Modena, Padova, Bari, Livorno, Milano, Udine and Roma. In 2006 he wins the 2nd prize at the international composition competition “Sassi vivaci”. In 2007 he wins the 2nd prize at the international composition competition “Musici Mojanesi” and, always in the same year, he has been selected from CECh – Comunidad Electroacùstica de Chile during the VII International Festival of Electroacoustic Music. In 2009 the Audio/Visual piece «Cut-up & grain, Chapter 1: Life», conceived and performed together with Antonino Chiaramonte, obtained a Mention within the "36th International Competition of Electroacoustic Music and Sonic Art / Bourges 2009". Music of Saldicco is published by ArsPubblica (Treviso), Philology (Macerata) and Sconfinarte (Rovato).
His works has been performed during national and international cultural events like “Musica e Angeli” (2000 Italy), "Nuova Musica in Europa" (2003 Italy), “Mediterranean Music Centre” (2003 Greece), “XXXIII Clusone Jazz Festival” (2003), “Une Saison Acousmatique” - Musiques & Recherches (2004 Bruxelles, Belgium), “Progetto Musica” - Goethe Institut (2005 Rome), “Manca Festival” (2005 Nice, France), “Festival Silence 2005” (2005 Bari), “Siren Festival” (2006 Sweden), “Cello+Elektronik” - Hochschule für Künste (2006 – Bremen, Germany), “Ai-maako” (2007 Chile), "Emufest" (2008 Roma), "Holger Fransman in memoriam" (2009 Helsinki, Finland), "ContemporaneaMente Contrabbasso" (2009 Italy) and broadcasted by Italian National Radio RAI. Currently he is Music teacher at Marymount Institute in Rome.
